Chaotianmen Square (朝天门广场) is one of the most beautiful viewing platforms in Chongqing. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent river view and the mountain city scenery across the river.
In summer, you may even see the confluence of the Jialing River and the Yangtze River. The two rivers have distinct colors—Jialing River is clear green, while the Yangtze is muddy yellow and fast-flowing—just like Chongqing’s famous Yuan-yang hotpot.
Above Chaotianmen Square is connected to Chongqing’s landmark building, Raffles City(来福士). After visiting the square, you can shop and dine at Raffles City Mall.
After exploring Chaotianmen Square and the mall, those with enough energy can walk down to Chaotianmen Dock, aka Chaotianmen Wharf (朝天门码头), to take a cruise and enjoy a night tour on the Yangtze River. It’s recommended to book tickets online in advance.

Take Chongqing Rail Transit Line 1 Chaotianmen Station (朝天门站), exit from Exit 2, then walk about 700 meters.
