Hetian 2nd Street

Hetian Second Street in Ürümqi is a local favorite known for its hidden food gems. The street is less than 500 meters long, but both sides are packed with stalls offering all kinds of Xinjiang specialties. It’s a paradise for meat lovers—the smell of grilled skewers fills the air and is hard to resist.

Some stalls open from 10:00 a.m. to midnight, while others start around 6:00 p.m. and stay open until 2:00 a.m. In winter, some close earlier, around 9:00 p.m.

There’s so much good food here, so make sure you come with an empty stomach.
