Description

Wulong Three Natural Bridges is located in Wulong District, Chongqing, about 150–200 km from Chongqing city. It is a 5A-level scenic area in China and one of the most famous karst landscapes in the country.

The Three Natural Bridges are three naturally formed mountains shaped like stone arch bridges, consisting of Tianlong Bridge (天龙桥), Qinglong Bridge (青龙桥), and Heilong Bridge (黑龙桥). They form the largest group of natural bridges in Asia. The pits between the stone bridges are also called 天坑 tiankeng (natural sinkholes). The average height of the three bridges exceeds 200 meters, and visitors walking under the pits can fully feel the grandeur of nature.

Inside the tiankeng there is a courtyard house called Tianfu Official Post or 天福官驿 in Chinese. It was originally a courier station in the Tang Dynasty, later destroyed, and the current courtyard is a reconstruction. It was built by director Zhang Yimou for the Chinese film: Curse of the Golden Flower (满城尽带黄金甲), which gathered top Chinese stars Jay Chou, Gong Li, and Chow Yun-fat. Now it has also become one of the most famous landmarks here.

Visitors can take a transparent sightseeing elevator from the scenic entrance at the top of the mountain directly to the bottom of the tiankeng valley, which is a very spectacular experience.
