Description

Yongqing Temple was first recorded during China's Song Dynasty and has a history of nearly 1,000 years. It has long been one of Hainan's most well-known temples. Over the centuries, the temple was damaged and rebuilt several times due to wars, typhoons, and other events.

The Yongqing Temple visitors see today is a newly built temple. It was relocated to a new site and completed in 2009.

Covering an area of 9,200 square meters, Yongqing Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in northern Hainan. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it offers wide-open views of the coastline and is considered one of the most scenic temples on the island. After paying respects at the temple, many visitors enjoy a relaxing walk along the nearby beach.

The temple's Buddhist statues are all carved from white jade imported from Myanmar. Together, they have earned 13 Guinness World Records, making Yongqing Temple the world's largest jade Buddha statue museum.
